Reconstructive & Implant

Edmund was at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and later developed a tumor of the sinuses and nasal cavity that resulted in the loss of his upper teeth and created two holes between his mouth and nose. Radiation therapy damaged his upper jaw and Edmund was told by previous doctors that rehabilitation of this mouth was not possible. Dr. Brecht and the oral surgeon planned the reconstruction and rebuilt his upper jaw with a fibula replacement. Implants were placed in the new upper jaw as well as in the lower jaw. This restored his function and esthetics with full-arch implant-retained prosthetic teeth made from high strength ceramics.

Patient testimonial

“On 9/11 I was walking towards the World Trade Center…when the building came down. I was in all that smoke. And then I was down there for the next five years. It wasn’t until I was treated for cancer that I made the connection – it was caused by 9/11… A great team of doctors saved my life, and then five years later a great team of doctors basically put my face back together again.”

Thank you!

“I came to NYCPros after a long road of trying to find a way to reconstruct my face after cancer. When I found this group of doctors they were able to change the whole functionality of my face and also the look of my face. Of all the things I’m thankful for, it’s this group of doctors who were able to take a situation I was told couldn’t be done and actually do it and now my life is very different.”
