Innovating the Science Behind Your Smile
From innovative patient care to our in-house lab, we use technology to create extraordinary outcomes
Leading the Way with Innovation
At NYCProsthodontics, we use proven, leading-edge technology to deliver the best possible care and results for our patients. We employ sophisticated technologies in every aspect of our practice – from improving the patient experience to treatment planning, and from innovations in our in-house lab to collaborative workflows.
How Do We Use Technology to Benefit You?
IN-HOUSE LAB
NYCProsthodontics is one of just 5% of practices in the nation with an in-house lab. Your prosthodontist collaborates with our highly-skilled lab technicians in real-time to design and create replacement teeth unique to each patient. We use quality materials and custom color matching to provide the best possible fit and most natural looking result. Having an on-site lab enables us to treat our patients with fewer appointments and more accurate results.
CLEAN AIR
Did you know that each treatment room and common area at NYCPros has a surgical grade air purifier? In addition, the ambient air in our office is not recycled throughout the building. Instead, air is funneled in from the outside and sterilized with UV lights and filters as it enters our office and treatment rooms.
STERILIZATION
NYCPros uses a proven, robust sterilization program for the safety of our patients and our team. We use the most effective, modern products and equipment to maintain the highest level of infection control. In our central processing area, all instruments and parts are cleaned, disinfected, sterilized and stored according to OSHA and CDC standards. We test our sterilization equipment daily for efficacy. We also take the time needed to thoroughly disinfect and sterilize treatment rooms between each patient visit.
SAME DAY RESTORATIONS
Computer assisted design and manufacture (CAD CAM) technology enables our teams to make crowns and inlays for our patients in just one appointment. If you break a tooth, we can restore it in a single visit with no temporary crown, no impressions, no second round of anesthetic, and no return visit to the office. Since restorations are digitally designed and patterned in our lab, you can expect a more consistent, predictable, comfortable and accurate fit.
DIGITAL IMAGE CAPTURE
We use digital image capture instead of the traditional impressions used in the past, which were often uncomfortable, sticky, terrible tasting and caused gagging. At NYCPros, our streamlined process uses an intraoral camera wand to photograph the affected tooth and surrounding areas with greater accuracy. This digital image capture results in restorations that are more esthetically pleasing, fit more accurately and integrate into your bite seamlessly.
DIGITAL X-RAYS
Digital X-Rays have improved image quality and, therefore, serve as a highly accurate diagnostic tool. They are safe and carry minimal radiation exposure. Digital X-Rays have several benefits. For example, they emit a fraction – less than 20% – of traditional X-Ray radiation. Four checkup X-Rays carry less radiation than a flight across the U.S.
DIGITAL SURGICAL PLANNING
Virtual surgical planning enables our teams to preview the affected area of a patient’s mouth, what we call the surgical field, in advance. Together with an oral surgeon and lab technicians, Dr. Brecht and Dr. Cohn plan the location of implants, examine how the design of a prosthesis can best integrate with implants, anticipate challenges and customize solutions in advance of surgery.
3D PRINTING FOR SAME DAY RESULTS
3D printing enables our lab to produce and reproduce temporary crowns and bridges in about an hour. If you lose or break a temporary bridge, a replacement can usually be made on site and placed for you on the same day.
